One Word Music Reviews

...because one word is all it takes...

Roll on 2014…..

The year is quickly coming to an end, and I have a bit of catching up to do.

Due to work, I’ve been too busy to add new reviews, but rest assured there are plenty on the way.  There is usually a drought of releases at the start of the year, and that will provide the perfect opportunity to get up to date.

I do have a request however.

Whilst I try my best, there is always going to be a vast amount of music out there that I don’t get round to.  As such, feel free to suggest an album, or albums, that I really should give a listen.  Is there anything that you’d like me to review in a suitably ambiguous manner with just a single word?

I’d also like to say thanks to anybody that has followed my collection of ‘reviews’, or has messaged me.  In the process of doing this I’ve been introduced to loads of bands and musicians that I probably wouldn’t have come across normally, and that’s awesome.

I can’t wait to see what 2014 has to offer…..

goddammitcameron asked: Hi! My name is Cameron and I love this blog to death. I work under the name "Pleb" from West Chester, Pennsylvania. After months of hard work, I produced a new album; Issue, my sophomore release after the 2012 debut The Pleb EP. It's been getting good reviews. I'm mighty proud. Issue is a step in the right direction for my sound, which I might now consider to be "electronic pop" and "hip hop". I dunno. It's something different! I hope you'll check it out! ("pleb issue bandcamp")

Cheers for getting in touch, and for your kind words.  I’m glad that you like the blog.

I had a listen to Issue.  My personal preference is for the songs that have more of a retro, NES chiptune feel to them (provver, cntngncy, and to a lesser extent ki).  Glad you’re getting positive reviews, and you should be proud.  regardless of personal taste, anyone that writes and records their own stuff automatically gets bonus kudos points against reality tv karaoke singers.

Thanks again for taking an interest, and good luck with all future musical endeavours.
